Below, we’ll outline some common issues with packaging machines along with practical maintenance tips to keep your equipment running smoothly.

Automatic Packaging Machine Manufacturer: Common Malfunctions of Packaging Machines and Repair Methods—How to Fix Your Packaging Machine

A packaging machine is a relatively simple piece of mechanical equipment; generally, failures are minor issues that are easy to understand once you grasp the machine's principles and operational characteristics. Below, we’ll outline common malfunctions of packaging machines along with their maintenance methods.

1. Pack machine tapes

The conveyor belt of the packing machine typically gets stuck in the middle of the roller or cannot be removed due to foreign objects. Here’s how to perform maintenance:

(1) Remove the hexagonal nut washer and loosen the two M5 countersunk screws on the central connecting shaft. Since these screws are secured within the gap of the connecting shaft, they must be tightened afterward.

(2) Remove the connecting shaft, lift the upper turbine, extract the trapped object, and then reassemble for recovery.

2. The packaging machine does not automatically remove the belt.

Automatic and semi-automatic packaging machines typically feature an automatic belt-ejection system; however, if the belt isn’t ejected properly, the possible reasons could be:

(1) Foreign objects in the upper and lower machine units: The packaging machine has been in use for a long time without timely cleaning and maintenance, leading to the accumulation of debris inside. This causes the belt to feed materials unevenly and restricts its smooth operation. Regular cleaning and maintenance are sufficient to prevent these issues.

(2) Choosing a packing strap that’s either too thick or too thin: There are many manufacturers offering packing straps of varying thicknesses—so select the one that best meets your needs.

(3) The belt-length control potentiometer is set to the zero position: On the front panel switchboard, the belt-length control potentiometer is located second from the left. Turn it clockwise to increase the belt output length; otherwise, the length will be shorter. If it’s set at the zero position, there will be no belt output at all.

(4) Incorrect threading: Open the right door and follow the threading procedure outlined in the instruction manual or the threading diagram on the right door to thread correctly.

Automatic packaging machine manufacturer: So, how do you maintain a packaging machine?

1. Before starting, check whether all components of the packaging machine are intact; ensure that no screws or nuts are loose, and if any are, tighten them immediately. Additionally, if nails or caps are missing, notify the repair technician to address the issue promptly.

2. Before operation, check the conveyor track for any debris. If debris is present, it must be removed—use compressed air to blow away any dust that has caused the track to derail.

3. Check whether the knife assembly and slider are lacking lubrication. If they’re low on oil, apply oil using the dipping method: carefully immerse a stick into the oil and slowly drip it onto the components—make sure not to let the oil flow back into the conveyor belt track, as this could cause the packaging belt to slip.

4. If any abnormal symptoms are detected during startup, such as loud noises, vibrations, or unusual odors, the machine must be stopped immediately for repair. If you’re unable to fix it yourself, stop the machine and notify the maintenance technician right away to prevent damage to the components.

5. When operating the packaging machine, also be sure to prevent misoperations that could allow the machine to function properly even without a belt or air supply, thus avoiding damage to vulnerable components.

6. After using the packaging machine, turn off the power supply, but remember not to shut it down and walk away immediately—there are still some necessary steps to follow.

7. Make it a habit to regularly lubricate the machine—depending on how frequently the baling machine is used, drip a suitable amount of specialized lubricant into its air inlet at regular intervals. Be sure to add lubricant at least once per shift as required.

That's all for now from the editor at the automatic packaging machine manufacturer—thank you for watching!
