What are the common malfunctions of wet wipe packaging machines?

The main reasons for the sealing failure in wet wipe dispensers like this are as follows:

(1) If the heat-sealing temperature of the wet wipe packaging machine is insufficient, simply increasing it slightly will resolve the issue.

(2) The surface of the heat-sealing blade is not smooth enough. The heat-sealing blade consists of two pieces, an upper and a lower one, with a thermocouple typically embedded between them to monitor temperature transfer. The blade features three screws: the middle screw provides support and reinforcement for the blade, while the other two screws are equipped with pressure springs and shims, primarily used to adjust the pressure applied by the heat-sealing blade. Each of the upper and lower blades has two springs as well. The main reason for the unevenness of the heat-sealing blade’s surface is that the middle screw is installed at an angle rather than being perfectly horizontal.

Alternatively, the pressure springs on the heat-sealing blades of the wet-wipe machine may be unevenly adjusted. To resolve this issue, simply recalibrate the position of the central screw to ensure it’s perfectly horizontal. If the upper and lower heat-sealing blades are unbalanced, adjust the pressure springs accordingly—tightening or loosening them until the pressure feels just right. Specifically, when you allow the spring to retract outward, the heat-sealing blade will drop downward; conversely, tightening the spring on the lower blade will cause the heat-sealing blade to move upward.

(3) Uneven pressure from the cold-pressing adhesive rollers in the wet wipe packaging machine can also lead to unreliable sealing issues. The solution is similar to the first scenario described.

There are three key points: When a peel test is conducted on the sealing area, if half of the seal remains firmly intact while the other half has already separated, the packaging bag still fails to meet quality standards. This is because the contents can easily leak during storage and transportation due to compression. Such issues frequently occur when the composite liner material is OPP with an outer layer of blown PE.

There are two main reasons why the wet wipe packaging machine causes this issue of unreliable sealing.

(1) Uneven heat-sealing blade pressure or uneven cold-press blade pressure—adjustments for both the heat-sealing and cold-press blades must be perfectly synchronized.

(2) If the surface of the heat-sealing blade is not smooth enough, refer to the corresponding solution for the second type of sealing failure—poor seal integrity.

The fuse in the wet wipe packaging machine has blown.

The primary function of the sealer machine's motor is to drive the gearbox and the gear system that transmits motion to various components. Sometimes, as soon as the sealer is turned on, it emits a "squeaking" sound, preventing it from operating properly—or even causing the fuse in the live wire to blow. To troubleshoot this issue, first check whether the power supply is functioning correctly. Next, disconnect the power and use the resistance setting on a multimeter to test if the switch is damaged. Additionally, carefully inspect the wiring and ensure there are no short circuits in the motor or electrical circuit.

Typically, when the motor short-circuits, the windings burn out, or wires break, the fuse blows as soon as the sealing machine is started. Another reason for this failure is that the fuse rating is too low—simply upgrading to a higher-rated fuse will resolve the issue.
