The principle behind the fully automatic mask folding and filling machine—everyone is surely familiar with face masks, as they’re applied directly to human skin, often raising concerns about hygiene. To address this issue, the mask folding and filling integrated machine has emerged as a cutting-edge product in 21st-century automation equipment. However, during manual packaging and folding processes, masks can easily develop numerous quality problems. Only by understanding the machine’s mechanics can we truly appreciate the safety and reliability of the final product.
Folding filling machines are a specialized subset of packaging equipment, categorized by the type of material being handled into liquid fillers, paste fillers, powder fillers, and granule fillers. From an automation perspective, they can be divided into semi-automatic filling machines and fully automated filling production lines. Recently, with the introduction of QS certification for food products and increasing emphasis from cosmetic manufacturers on both product quality and packaging excellence, cosmetic-specific filling machines have become increasingly prominent within the broader filling machine market.
Fully automatic mask folding and filling mechanism:
Includes: the frame, hydraulic pump station, lower crossbeam, upright columns, moving crossbeam, upper crossbeam, metering assembly, mask material inlet, filling port, and lifting mechanism. The frame is equipped with a hydraulic pump station and the lower crossbeam, while the lower crossbeam supports the upright columns. Mounted atop the upright columns is the moving crossbeam, which in turn holds the upper crossbeam at its top. Above the upper crossbeam sits the metering assembly, comprising a measuring cylinder, rotary valve, sprocket, chain, and positioning cylinder. Several measuring cylinders are arranged along the upper crossbeam, each fitted with a rotary valve at the top. The rotary valve is connected to a sprocket, and the positioning cylinder is linked via the chain to drive the entire system. Meanwhile, the main hydraulic cylinder on the hydraulic pump station is directly connected to the measuring cylinders, enabling precise operation. The measuring cylinders are also linked to the filling ports, ensuring accurate material distribution. Additionally, a mask material inlet is positioned above the metering assembly, allowing seamless connection between the inlet and the measuring cylinders through the rotary valve. Finally, a lifting mechanism is installed above the filling port, facilitating smooth vertical movement during the filling process.
1. Includes a lifting cylinder, which is mounted on the lower crossbeam and connected to the frame drive mechanism.
2. A bottle-blocking mechanism is installed on one side of the metering device.
3. A metering and adjustment assembly is installed on the lower beam.
The fully automatic mask folding and filling machine operates on the following principle: The mask material is drawn into the filling container by the reciprocating motion of pistons within metering cylinders, which then press it into place. As the main hydraulic cylinder’s piston extends and retracts, it synchronously drives multiple metering cylinder pistons via a moving crossbeam. Meanwhile, a dual-action piston rod indexing cylinder, connected to chain-driven sprockets, ensures that several directional valves switch positions in unison. Additionally, a central metering adjustment mechanism located on the lower crossbeam precisely limits the downward travel of the moving crossbeam, guaranteeing consistent filling accuracy. By adjusting the position of this mechanism—either upward or downward—you can easily accommodate varying filling volume requirements.
